Town Residents Adopt 76 Children

I just read an amazing story about a small country church in Possom Trot, Texas that adopted 76 foster children from across the state.

Led by the Bishop W.C. Martin and his wife Donna, the congregation at Bennett Chapel Baptist Church saw a need to help so many children who were in the foster care system.

More than a decade ago when Donna was grieving her mothers death, she says she heard a voice telling her to adopt. They had two children of their own, but took in 4 children over a period of a few years.

In Honor of Earth Day

Yesterday was Earth Day and I know the students of our school participated in a lot of projects such as cleaning up around the school, recycling bottles, cans and used paper, as well as planting flowers.

The Cottage of Hope was made possible with a generous donation from local businesses like K-Force — which not only gave money but also time. Employees with K-Force have been painting, putting in hurricane straps and cleaning.

Ray Morganti, Vice President of Talent Management with K-Force says that “everybody has More >

Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund

Forrest, I liked your blog about the film camp for kids. It is interesting all the different types of camps that are out there to attend.

I just read about a fund that has been set up to provide summer camp opportunities for kids in need in Central New Jersey, called the Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund.

Recently they received a $25,000 donation from the Christine’s Hope for Kids Foundation, which was set up by John and Jean Gianacaci in memory of their daughter Christine, a student at Lynn University who died at 22 in the Haiti earthquake. Her passion was More >
